With experience as an attorney, real estate investor, property manager, and business advisor, Steve brings insight and expertise that guide Alecko’s business strategy and investment capabilities.
Steve is a former member of the Management Committee and Financial Crisis Response Team at the law firm of Much Shelist. He has represented developers, owners, entrepreneurs, closely held businesses, and institutional lenders in a full range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing transactions.
During his career, Steve formed a strong working relationship with Alex Pissios through various businesses and led the legal team throughout the negotiation of the sale of Cinespace Chicago Film Studios.
Steve has extensive experience in a broad range of financial distress issues, dispute resolution, identifying potential risks, negotiating favorable terms, and sales. As a legal and business counselor, Steve is committed to helping clients initiate, develop, and close deals that further their business objectives.
In 1996, while working as a full-time attorney, Steve started to acquire muti-family real estate with his partner, Mitchell Zamost. The team formed Aljack Investments, Inc. which owns and operates over 500 units in the Chicagoland area.
Steve is a regular speaker on a broad range of topics, including workout issues and financial distress. He is also a member of the American, Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations.
